Why search compounds

Search demand appears on more than one surface.

A buyer might search Google, scan the map, read a comparison article and then ask an AI assistant to confirm the shortlist. Each surface draws on the same signals: accurate business facts, pages that answer the question, and evidence from other sites that you are credible.

Those signals take months to build, and they keep working once they exist. That is why we run SEO as a program rather than a one-off fix. Each month adds pages, links and coverage on top of the last.

42%

of citations in local AI answers pointed to business websites, and 28.6% to Google Business Profiles, in BrightLocal’s 2026 study.

Your own website and Business Profile carry much of the weight in local AI answers, so the program works on both.

8%

of Google searches that showed an AI summary led to a click on a regular result, against 15% without one, in a 2025 Pew Research Center study.

Where AI summaries appear, ranking alone earns fewer clicks. Being a cited source and visible on the map matter more.

What we run for you

Nine workstreams, run as one program.

Ranking is rarely one tactic. We plan the mix around your services, your areas and the competition you face, then run each workstream on a steady cadence.

9 workstreams

  1. Google Business Profile management

Categories, services, service areas, photos, products and questions kept complete and current, with regular updates that show the business is active.

WeeklyWeekly posts and a monthly profile review

  2. Technical and on-page SEO

Indexing, site speed, structured data, titles and internal links checked and fixed so search engines can read and connect every service page.

MonthlyA full audit in month one, then monthly fixes

  3. Service and location pages

A page for each service you want to rank for, in each area you serve, written for the buyer and backed by real detail about how you work there.

MonthlyA planned page map, published in batches

  4. Expert articles and guides

Answers to the questions buyers ask before they call: costs, timing, options, warning signs and what to check before choosing a provider.

MonthlyArticles drafted from your team’s knowledge, approved by you

  5. Comparison and list articles

Fair, useful comparisons and “options for” pieces for the searches where buyers weigh alternatives, written with your expertise rather than filler.

MonthlyListicles and comparisons for high-intent searches

  6. Links and citations

Accurate listings on the directories that matter for your trade and area, plus links earned from relevant local, supplier and industry sites.

MonthlyA link and citation log in every report

  7. Digital PR and press releases

Newsworthy angles from your work, data or community involvement, pitched to local and trade publications, with releases distributed when there is real news.

QuarterlyPlanned PR campaigns and release distribution

  8. Original expertise content

Material only your business can publish: job data, typical price ranges, project case studies and survey findings. This is the kind of source other sites and AI assistants cite.

QuarterlyOne original-data or case-study asset per quarter

  9. AI answer visibility

A fixed set of buyer questions asked of Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, recording whether you are mentioned and which sources the answers draw on.

MonthlyA monthly AI answer check alongside rankings

One set of signals

AI answers are part of SEO, not a separate trick.

Google says there are no extra requirements to appear in its AI Overviews or AI Mode: the same SEO best practices apply. Other assistants also draw on what the open web says about you, and local answers lean heavily on business websites and Business Profiles. The work that earns a ranking is the same work that earns a mention: clear pages, accurate facts and credible coverage.

We measure the two separately because they behave differently. A ranking is a position. An AI answer can change each time the question is asked, so we repeat the same questions every month and report the pattern, not a single result.

  • Google results

Where you rank for the services and areas you chose.

  • The map

Whether you appear in the local pack and what the profile shows.

  • AI answers

Whether assistants mention you, and which sources they cite.

The program

What happens across the first year.

Every program starts with a baseline, so later reports compare against something real. The first three months build the foundation; the months after build authority on top of it.

  1. Month 1

    Audit and foundation

    • Business Profile overhaul
    • Technical audit and priority fixes
    • Service and location page map
    • Baseline rankings and AI answer check
  2. Months 2–3

    Build the core pages

    • First service and location pages live
    • First expert articles
    • Citation cleanup
    • Link outreach begins
  3. Months 4–6

    Build authority

    • Steady article and page cadence
    • Comparison and list content
    • First PR campaign
    • Compare against the baseline
  4. Months 7–12

    Compound and expand

    • More areas and services covered
    • Original-data content
    • Refresh pages that rank
    • Quarterly strategy review

Search takes time. Early changes usually show in profile views and search impressions before they show in enquiries. We report what we can verify at each stage and never promise a ranking.

Every month

What a typical month includes.

Volumes depend on your scope and competition. Your proposal sets them out, and the monthly report shows what was delivered.

  • Business Profile posts, photos and fact checks
  • New and refreshed service and location pages
  • Expert articles, comparisons and guides
  • Link building and citation work
  • Technical fixes from the audit backlog
  • AI answer check across four assistants
  • A written report and a review call

Who does the work

Specialists on each workstream.

One strategist owns your program and the monthly review. Specialists handle the work that needs a particular skill.

  • SEO strategist

Sets priorities, owns the page map and runs your monthly review.

  • Content editor

Interviews your team, drafts and edits every page and article.

  • Outreach and PR specialist

Earns links and coverage, and manages press releases.

  • Technical specialist

Fixes indexing, speed, structured data and site issues.

Software and AI speed up research, drafting and repeat checks. People decide the strategy, edit every piece and approve what is published.

Questions

What buyers ask us about Local & AI SEO.

How long before we see results?

Profile and technical fixes can show up within weeks. Rankings for competitive services usually take several months, which is why the program has a three-month minimum and plans for longer. We compare every month against the baseline from month one.

Can you guarantee first-page rankings?

No. Google’s own guidance says no one can guarantee a top ranking, and that you cannot pay for a better local ranking. We commit to the work in your scope, report what changed and explain what we will do next.

Is AI answer visibility a separate service?

No. Google says the same SEO best practices apply to its AI features, with no extra requirements, and other assistants draw on what the web says about you. The same work earns both. We track AI answers separately because they vary each time a question is asked.

Who writes the content?

We do. We interview your team, draft each piece in your voice and send it for approval. Nothing is published until you sign off on accuracy.

What kind of links do you build?

Links earned from relevant sites: local organisations, suppliers, trade publications and press coverage. We do not buy links or use link networks, which put your site at risk.

If we stop, who owns the work?

You do. The pages and articles live on your website, your Business Profile stays in your name, and the links and coverage we earned stay in place.

Do we need a new website first?

Usually not. The month-one audit tells us whether your current site can rank. If it has a deeper problem, we will say so and scope the fix separately.

What happens after the three-month minimum?

The program continues on the terms in your proposal. Most of the value in SEO builds after the first quarter, and we plan the next phase with you before the minimum ends.
